Pegasus Tech Ventures is currently seeking an Accounting Analyst, passionate about accounting and venture capital / technology startups to join its HQ in San Jose, California.

 

Pegasus Tech Ventures is a global venture capital firm based in Silicon Valley. We invest in emerging technology companies around the world and work with them to expand sales in North America, Asia, and Europe. Our global team operates out of offices across 3 continents and offers a wide range of domain expertise. We currently have 40+ funds under management, and look for world-class management and technical teams that are targeting disruptive opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Fund Accounting Support: Assist in maintaining the general ledger for multiple fund entities, including recording journal entries for accruals, prepaid expenses, and management fees.

  • Cash Management: Reconcile cash receipts against bank reporting; monitor and record security transactions (trades, interest payments, and dividends).

  • Month-End Close: Support the month-end and year-end close processes, helping to prepare financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting packages.

  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Process invoices, record incoming payments, and resolve any variances or unresolved balances in a timely manner.

  • Data Analysis & Modeling: Use advanced Excel functions to manage large datasets, track budget-vs-actual variances, and assist with Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations.

  • Compliance & Audit: Support the team during annual audits and tax filings, ensuring all financial records comply with GAAP and internal policies.

  • Collaborative Projects: Work across departments to help streamline accounting workflows and support the unique financial needs of our corporate partners and portfolio companies.

  • Other tasks / projects that may be assigned

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in a Accounting related role preferred

  • Experience in consolidated international accounting

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related fields. Having an advanced degree is a plus

  • Knowledge of US GAAP

  • Knowledge of JGAAP is a plus

  • Native level Japanese language skill for speaking, reading and writing is a plus

  • Experience in financial and accounting management in a public company is a plus

  • Self starter who is highly motivated, with high attention to detail and proven ability to multitask and work in a dynamic environment

  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Project management experience

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and financial management software

  • Detail oriented and analytical

  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced multi-team environment

  • Experience / knowledge in fund financials is a plus
